There are squirrel cutter calls that are manufactured with the purpose of hunting squirrel. These tend to be plastic devices that may deceive squirrels and help hunters harvest squirrel. The deer cutter is made for bow hunters of whitetail deer. It is made of three different types of material that have been fine tuned to deceive deer.

We have used this device to simply calm the woods as well as use it in connection with other calls. There are three major advantages to this device.

    1. A hunter using the sound of a squirrel cutting a nut while in a
    tree stand is a natural sound coming from a natural location...a tree.

    2. This is the only device on the market that is designed to work on 
    the 6th sense of security, or that "gut feeling" of the whitetail deer. (No
    distress sounds, antlers rattling, bleat calls, etc.) Note: We have all 
    been in that situation where we needed a totally natural sound to 
    help take the edge off of that buck we are working on in order to close
     the gap.

    3. The deer cutter not only provides a subconscious feeling of 
    security, but also entices deer to subconsciously browse. We all know
    it is extremely important to deceive that mature doe that is oftentimes
    followed by a mature buck.
