RICHARD & SHAWN
My name is Richard Cologie and my hunting and business partner, Shawn Thomas. We enjoy spending time with our families and trying to get in the woods to bow hunt Ohio's whitetail deer. Hunting with our kids has always been special. In 2012, I was bow hunting and paid close attention to the sounds in the woods as deer were moving below my tree stand. At that moment, I realized the importance of calming sounds. Deer listened intently to sounds at a distance, but paid no attention to sounds they heard associated to animals relaxed and feeding in the woods.
I knew then we needed to create the sound of a squirrel cutting on a nut to deceive deer and create a false sense of security. We knew if we could duplicate the sound and focus on the deer's false sense of security, it would make our hunts more enjoyable and we would see more deer.
Shawn and I went to work and designed the first Deer Cutter. After using a variety of metals, plastic, and wood, we felt we had a product ready to be field tested. The results of the field test were much better than expected. We made enough Deer Cutters to begin using with our immediate family and enjoyed the results.

EVAN'S BUCK
My son, Evan, killed our first Deer Cutter buck. This buck fell to a combination Deer Cutter and a bleat call he used on an early November morning. The buck you see in the picture is actually the 7th buck Evan saw that morning! Evan harvested this buck using a Hoyt Avenger Plus Compound Bow and a 100 Grain Rage 2 Blade Broadhead.
